RaceTab is Windows only.

I'm sure this will make resound like an idiot, but doesn't that mean anything but mac.  I saw a video last night where a guy was using a chromebook, so it must work on a tablet somehow

RaceTab itself only works on Windows. There are "companion apps" that we are developing that can run on anything with a browser. But you must have a Windows computer. No, that doesn't mean anything but Mac. Chromebook, Android, iOS, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Linux, etc. are neither Windows nor Mac.

If the board only uses Mac's have them buy an old used Windows note book to run the Program and save the computer just for track meets.  If the board goes to F.A.T. they will need the windows computer to run Finish Lynx, Time Tronics, Alge or other IAAF approved timing system.  The other solution has been metioned before, put a windows emulator on one of the Mac's and turn the Mac into a windows computer.

Any Intel Mac makes a great Windows machine. Just need to get your hands on a Windows install Disk and Registration then set it up in Bootcamp.

We've been running meets in Windows on our classroom Macs and on Monday's we just boot them back into OS X. We've run RaceTab, EagleEye and FlashFAT this way. This Spring we're getting a new FinishLynx and we plan to run it on our Macs.

It's really easy to get spoiled by the massive iMac screen and while it's no laptop, it is very totable.
