Meet management made simple.
Reporting
1) Field event reports
a) need more columns for vertical jumps
b) All other field events the last column cuts off the place after the second athlete
c) The athlete school name needs to show instead of abbreviation. Would be best if it showed below name in the same box and you could remove the abbreviation to free up more real estate for results.
2) I think I asked for this one before. Double column Meet programs so you can have something for the host to sell at the gate or to give to coaches without killing a tree to print. It could be such a thing as being able to print to a PDF file and telling the pdf software to print 2 pages to one in landscape mode.
Seeding and reports
When seeding for distance events most people do not use alleys as the setup they just seed 1-16 (or whatever 24,32, etc) and then let the clerk assign them to alleys on the fly so the alleys are even. Since you cannot select more than 10 lanes you can not do this.
This also causes a problem in that there is no HIP number available for the clerk to hand out hip numbers. When you seed by lane everyone has a hip number then. Even if you assign by alleys you need to list a hip number for each athlete.
Save changes button under seeding does not seem to work or at least it gives you no indication it is working.

On seeding.....
Save Changes button does work. There is no indication but it does work. Most of the time you probably want to use the auto-pilot to seed things quickly. But I don't see a need to throw up a confirmation "Changes Saved" dialog that requires another "OK" click to confirm.
# of Lanes -- If you do random, waterfall, alpha... or basically any type of lane assignments other than strict lane-based seeding methods then you can go beyond the 10 lanes.

Is there a way for the seeding rules to stick to each event? I seed all events differently at most meets and if I have to reseed on the fly then it could become a problem in that it keeps the last event I seeded instead of the way the event was seeded the first time.
I tried the auto pilot but not sure that will work unless there is something I need to do to set it up.
I downloaded a meet from milesplit (OATCCC state championships from last year) and I just let the autopilot do its thing but I wanted the following
distance events are 16 to a race seeded by time
sprints are 8 to a heat with finals taking 8 by time
field events are 2 flights in shot, disc, lj, tj, wt with finals
field events hj, pv 1 flight

I'll think about some ideas, but with the auto-pilot.. you can do one genre at a time. So there is a filter with the events so u can select distance, set the rules, auto pilot those... once done move on the spints/hurdles, etc.
Will try to think about the "stick" thing... you are saying not per meet but overall across all meets?

It could be in the event setup itself like that "other" meet management software. Every event can be different. For example in the meet I setup I had 17 runners in the 800 but I had 16 in the 1600-3200 and if I would seed by the standard rule of 16 then it would give me 2 heats in the 800 and 1 of them would have 1 runner. Same with sprints if setup with 8 lanes and fill heats, it leaves 1 runner by themselves.

That is what I do in the "other" software. Each event is setup as I use the same database from year to year and just change the dates and purge athletes then import new ones. I go to the seeding menu and just let the system seed all at once (your autopilot). since I use the same database it keeps my settings each year and works 99.9% of the time correctly. every once in a while I need to change a setting depending on how many athletes are entered.
I have over 200 meets on my calendar this year and to have to change seeding each time would be very time consuming. I will have to do this anyways the first time but I would like to be able to only have to do it once for a meet so that the next year would be very simple.
