Bug Fixes

  • Scoring issues with hand times and ties.
  • 2:59.94 hand time converts to 2:60.0h instead of 3:00.0h. Fixed.
  • For road races with start/finish mats, added additional consistency to use the adjusted time instead of the gun time. For team scoring it was still using the gun time, even if your preferences said to use the net time.
  • When you had multiple heats and had athletes who were DNF or DQ, and you separated results by heat. The DNFs and DQs were printing below the other heats all together. This was awkard. So now they will show up with their proper heat.
  • Fixed weird issue where someone had three heats of results, but then edited the event to only have one heat. And then it caused some anomolies in the results. Caused it to be more forgiving and show the results anyway, even for the heads you have essentially hidden by telling RaceTab they don't exist. Not sure this is the right way versus actually ignoring them, but for now...

I'm having trouble with seeding. Each time I seed an event, it looks like it stays. However, if I go back in to change something, or to add in a late athlete to a certain lane, the number of lanes reverts to 8 (we have 9 lanes), and it knocks off the lane 9 runner into the "unassigned" slot. I've since discovered that if I do nothing with the seeding and exit out, the lane 9 runner is still assigned on the "Event" tab in their proper lane. However, it makes me nervous since it feels like I can't be certain whether the athlete is seeded correctly or not. Another nice feature would be saving seeding rules for certain events.

Fairly common request. But basically my advice is... seed once! If you have a late athlete you can just key them in without going into the seeding window again.

And it only saves your seed changes if you click Save Changes or go on Auto-Pilot... not just opening the seed window

Got it.  We had to reseed because of a few late entries (our fault for letting them in), and it was scaring me when I went back in and it didn't look like what I had seeded before.

So, just to clarify, by clicking "save", it will only save the event that is currently showing (if I have altered it)?  Any other changes seen will NOT be saved unless I tell it to?

Yes.  You can seed and make changes one event at a time.  Wouldn't it just be great if all got the entries in on time!!!  :)

Ok having a problem with seeding.  I have an 8 lane track but only want to run 6 lanes for the 300IH.  Is there a way for racetab to recognize that I have a 8 lane track so lanes 1 and 8 are not used?

After you seed the race you can move people out of 1 and 8 to other heats. then save

I don't think it will auto keep them out of 1 and 8. You can tell it to just use 6 lanes for that event but it will use 1-6 not 2-7.

Yeah trying to avoid having to move people around

Dan, only seeding 6 lanes on an 8 lane track and wanting to do lanes 2-7... that's going to take an update to do right. Of course you could seed as 6 lanes and lane 1 becomes 2, 2 becomes 3, etc. when you line them up on a track. But obviously that's not ideal.

Wait, thinking this through further ... by each event you set seeding.  Set it for that event to 6. Under preferences you set six lane seeding ... aren't you all set?  We do this and then often drag kids into the outside lanes if we are really running 8 lanes but only scoring six, or as here if you only want to set up six lanes, just set it to six lanes.
