Video of new bib number app integration

Bug Fixes

  • Changing to "Time Based on Chip or Wave Start" was not sticking... once you changed it to "Clock Time" you couldn't get it back.
  • Fixed issue where importing timing session a second time would duplicate the the first line (two identical winning times) where you had to delete one.
  • In leagues screen, if you typed in a team name that doesn't exist it would cause an error. Now creates new team on the fly.
  • Fixed Export Results to Hytek Semi-Colon Delimited file issue. This is a format that I'm not even sure who reads anymore. It's no longer an option in Hytek since Meet Manager 2.0 but regardless we still support it incase something still imports it! Bug fixed.

New Features

  • Under preferences, set the custom keyboard shortcuts for the stopwatch.
  • Enable entering check bib numbers into timing session, so that if things get out of order on your spindles, you have check points to see what should go where. Like if you want to enter every tenth finisher or something just to have reference points.

Other Changes

  • Makeover for stopwatch screen.
  • Changed import Timing Sessions to Timing/Bibs.
  • New split points nearly completed behind the scenes.

Any hope of ever getting it to work when not in focus?  That is my end goal :-) so that I can type bibs at the same time, or enter athletes for next race, or work on results from prior race and still be timing.

Maybe but when I've tried before I've never been able to get it working. I'm sure if I play around with it for another 12 hours then I can eventually find online somewhere some code that works. It's just not something that is a core function built in to the normal function of an application... you kind of have to find a way to hack deep into the operating system to intercept keyboard presses that weren't intended for you! Just a matter of if that's really the most productive use of that much time.

Hopefully it can be done without spending too much time.  I suspect that many have missed a time due to shifted focus.

Is this article heading in the right direction?

Yeah, it's on the right track. I can test its code at some point.

That article is 10 years old, so see if it still applies.

I'll try ... but you underestimate how much I hate and how much a pain in the ___ it is to deal with keyboard input in .net .... I am fighting with it for three hours now just trying to figure out how to set/store/interpret the custom shortcut keys in this update.

Oy..... 10pm to 2:15am and finally got the custom keyboard shortcuts working right. you will set it under preferences.

For some reason Microsoft thinks it's a brilliant idea to create no easy way to convert the event of pressing a certain key to the actual letter/number/symbol value it would normally represent. I think it's because a given key could represent a few different characters and because of internationalization... but sheesh.. should be a way to convert to/from the default character or key.
