I have watched the tutorial and read what was in the manual part.  In breaking ties in the verticals- I understand to go to the bottom and just type in the number of misses.  That still leaves it tied.

Then, I went to the field series.  Typed in the last two and then three heights. I marked accoring to legend, i.e, o= make, x= miss, p=pass.  Then, for example, tonight there was a tie at 5'6 in boys' hj.

I typed in for one boy 5'6 o misses, for another boy 5'6 one miss. It kept them tied.

Then, in the field series I put in 5'6 o and 5'6xxo. I hit rescore and still tied. I am missing something.

Should I hit unscore before I break the ties, or... Any help would be appreciated. I know I am just missing something simple.

I am just learning it.  Thanks

When you just change the place numbers, don't restore or anything just get results and it will be correct there.

I use 5-6 for all my input heights and never have an issue on ties. There might be an issue using 5'6 and not 5'6"...

I'm honestly not sure what you're doing wrong, my friend. I just did a test with High Jump. I have athletes with 5-9, 5-6, 5-6, 5-3..... I selected the first 5-6 ad put in 2 misses... selected the second 5-6 and put in 1 miss... cilck score... it scored them. It knew one was 2nd and one was 3rd...

Changed them both to 1 miss... clicked score again... this time left them tied...

Changed it to one 0 misses and one 2 misses... click score... it gives them both the right place.

So all seems well to me here and i'm only using the simple method and not even messing with Field Series at all. Like Jasen said... the third way is you can always manually override it by just typing in the place.

Thanks. I know it is something I was just not doing. If I redo it a few times, it takes.  So, obviously, something I am doing wrong in the first place.  Thanks again.
