Meet management made simple.
Hey all, I import my meet from Athletic.net. Everything looks good, meet sets up and I am ready to go. We use the Radio Flash Timing system and I am absolutely loving it so far. Easy to use and very straight forward. Here is my problem. On the sprints events (we are talking just a dual meet here) the sprints will put in a pre-lim level and a finals level. I have a number of heats but we just want it do a final. I can get it to do it, but I think I am missing something else because it will sometimes revert to the pre-lims after we enter times. I know how to change it back but when you have times entered it is much more difficut. Thanks David

I had that issue in the past but I think it has been fixed in the last update.
Open the event, click the edit icon and change the number of rounds to one

In the list of events click the event you want to only make one round for, then click edit to edit that event., Timed Finals on bottom left of the edit window make sure round is set to one....

Yep, I did that. We had it happen again today. We set the rounds at one. We then run the event and input our times from the flash system. Everything work great, but when I go to score it, it does not score. When I go to edit it give me an error (I did not write it down but I will next time, it has happened 3 times on the 100 meter dash and both times on the girls 400) every other sprint event it working. I do remember the error said something about a "7" Anyway, after the error, if you hit continue, you go to the edit screen. But in the box next to round, there is nothing there. Usually it says prelims and finals, but it is blank. I go back to the event and where the arrows are at the top of the screen it is like there are two finals. I can move between them, but it will not let me score. I then have to print out all of my times, and delete the event entirely, then add it back, hand typing all of the times back in. Tell me what I have done wrong so I do not have to do this???? Help..lol.
Also, since I am talking about problems, when I upload information from Athletic.net, the discus for some reason comes in as a running event instead of a field event. If you don't change it, it really messes with trying to enter the information..lol. Any help would be appreiciated.

Weird how when you sleep, things come to you. Two things, first off, I remembered the error, it was an "unhandled exception error, where "7" was greater or less then then range"
Second, I am not sure I was clear on the two finals thing. That is when I close down the edit box and where nothing is in the box, and go back to the page where you enter your times. At the top it will say "prelims" or "finals" There are arrows where you can click through the different heats. When this happens, the arrows are there, it says finals but I move left or right with the arrows, my kids disappear, so I now have a blank screen. It still says all the same information 1 of 1 heat finals, but it is a totally different page. I can click back and there are my runners again. one time it said heat 1 out of 0 but the same thing. Sorry to be typing so much, just trying to give all the information I have. Anyone else had this problem. This happened at a totally different meet yesterday where all I was doing was importing scores. So it can't be in setup as I didn't set this one up. Thanks for looking into this and for anyone's help.

Try this. Make sure when you are running sprint events assign at least enough heats to cover the number of heats you are anticipating. If you then only have three heats it is no biggie, just go back into the seed button, remove the unneeded heat(s) Sometimes it will look like the heat was not removed, remember this is database driven, just click save and close... You should have the same number heats in racetab as you run on the track. Also make sure you have the number of lanes set in both racetab, and FT timing. I had the same issue when I first started. Racetab will not allow an event to be scored if it thinks there are still heats to be ran.

Yep, got that part. We set up heats before hand and that is all working fine. I have the same number and it matches the number on my Flash Timing software. It works for every other sprint, just the 100 is the problem. I am setting up a dummy meet and going to even record video to input and see if I can get it to happen again...We have an invitational on May 4 and 5 I am running. want to make sure it all works. BTW, I love this program. It is powerful, very well done, and extremely user friendly. Could not do without it now. : )

If it showed heat 1 out of 0 that is defiantly where the error occurred. I recreated the situation on my sample meet. Looks like all heats were initially removed perhaps on accident. then it showed heat 1 out of 0. when trying to import the times it got the same error as you. here is how I corrected it. Went back into the 100 m clicked seed button, added heat 1, and clicked save. Closed racetab and re opened the meet and everything was perfect..

Thanks, I will try to see if I can get the same problem and correct it the way you did. Hopefully, that will solve it. Thanks again for working on it.

Sorry i did not read this until now... busy season. II would like to get a copy of the entire error message (click "Details") or just get your meet file.
If you guys can get steps to recreate the problem exactly then i will test it and fix it in next update

Jason, see the post by Jeremy Killinger, he has the same thing happen that I did, and he copied the error message. That is the exact problem I was having.
