"Sorry for the late reply. Putting them as separate events probably is not ideal. But RaceTab has another concept called "classifications" which would be great for this purpose. Have one for run and one for walk and assign runners…"

Road Race with Run & Walk Divisions

Hosting a local road race in a couple weeks.  It has both a 5K run and 5K walk division that has a simultaneous start & finish - basically we're using a single clock and both runners and walkers will have times mixed together.  I'm currently using Excel to do my sorting. Both events have the same age groups.1) How do I differentiate between the Run and the Walk when entering names, ages, genders?  I assume it works the same way as a track meet where you list athletes by "Event".2) When…See More

"No. Never heard of this before, so didn't program this feature into RaceTab. They'd have to be set up each as a separate event."

From the Setup screen click on "Records" in the "Misc" section which will open the "Categories" screen.  Under "Symbol" you can enter just about anything.  I would suggest a "*".  The "Priority" column tells RaceTab which record you want listed first.  Entering a "1" tells it you want that record listed first.  Under "Name" enter something like "Conf" or "State" as the record list applies.

To begin entering records click on the pencil icon.

You will find 5 columns: "Gender", "Record Holder", "Date", "Event Code", and "Mark".  Gender, Record Holder and Mark are pretty straight forward.  The two that may cause issues are Date and Event Code.  Under date you can need to put in a full date like "3/14/2018". If you leave it blank or just put in a year it defaults to 12:00:00 AM.  (It would be nice to be able to add just the year.)   Each line in the "spreadsheet" is a new event. If two more athletes share a record, just add another line for each athlete.

The Event Code is how RaceTab refers to a particular event.  For example, the 100 Meter Dash is 100m, 4 x 400 Relay is 4x400m.  You can find the event codes double clicking on any of the events listed on the "Events" tab.  Under "Meta" you will find "MileSplit Code:".

There doesn't seem to be any way of formatting the records, i.e. justifying or setting up tab stops.  That too would be nice.

Here's an example of what it will look like:
