We are running into an issue when Racetab is pulling times for athletes in non-lane races from Flashtiming. We seed the meet using alleys in Racetab and then pull up the list of athletes in Flashtiming. The times are entered for each athlete (the order of finishers is determined at the finish line). Once Racetab tries to get times, it only pulls four times (even when we've saved 5, 8, 10, however many times). The times also don't match up to the correct athletes. We end up hand entering these times (which is a pain). Any ideas on what is causing this or how to fix it?

Here is how we do it...... For example, have 14 runners in the 1600M. I use the waterfall seed best to worst option. Now each runner has a number from 1 to 14. I have stickers (just like a small name tag, 2"x3") with the numbers 1 to 14 on them. Stick the corresponding number sticker on the runner based on the 1-14 seeding number...... you can line them up at the start however you want. I record the numbers as they come across the finish line then go back to the flashtime video and now you can put the time with the athlete since you have the order in which the seed numbers came across the finish..... Works fine in the meets we do, even when you have 24 runners and they want to run them all in 1 heat.
Did you ever figure out how to deal with this? I am currently having the same issue.
Thanks.
Yep! We do what Ron does. Just make sure you select positions instead of alley's. I think, by default, you can seed up to 50 by position. Be careful when re-seeding when you select "position". Every time we go back if there is a scratch or sub, it automatically defaults back to the number "10" as the number of positions. Make sure you set it back to the number you need. In the heat of a meet, it is easy to overlook and screw up all of your seeding.
By alley....

What I've been doing now, is seeding my non-lane finishing races using the waterfall seeding option (and not seeding them in alleys). The 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, etc. does not transfer between Flashtiming and Racetab. Our clerk / starter will put them into alleys before the race.
We've recorded finishers at the end of the race 2 ways:
1. Using hip numbers. We assign hip numbers based on the waterfall seeding numbers. Someone at the finish line records the order of finishers based on hip numbers. We them read these over walkie talkies to the press box.
2. Send finishers down a chute after they finish the race and have someone at the finish line write down the order they finish as they come down the chute. This sheet is them sent up to the press box.
The results of either 1 or 2 above then allow our Flashtiming reviewer to assign the times for each athlete based on the order they finish. These all transfer over to Racetab without a problem. Option 1 above has proven to be the faster / more efficient way to score these non-lane finishing races (at least for us).
